Template quality rating | Developer Documentation
Check the quality of a WhatsApp message template
A template can be approved and still perform poorly with customers. Before sending a larger campaign through a ChatArchitect integration, check both its status and its quality rating. Meta uses customer feedback and engagement signals to evaluate template quality and may limit delivery or pause a template when quality drops.
Where to check
- Sign in to your ChatArchitect account at wtargeted.com. Find the template by name and language and check its current status and quality rating. This is the preferred way to see both. For an approved template, Approved templates → refresh updates the available list; the creation guide shows that step.
- You can also open the connected WhatsApp Business Account in Meta's WhatsApp Manager → Message templates and check the same template there. Delivery, read, and block metrics may be available depending on the account and region.
- If you cannot see the rating, ask ChatArchitect support to check it. Include the template name, language, and connected WhatsApp Business number.
Quality pending means Meta has not yet collected enough signals. High quality is a healthy signal. Medium or low quality calls for a review of the campaign and its audience. These ratings are separate from the template's approval status: a template must still be active and approved when you send it.
What to do when quality drops
- Check whether recipients expected this type of message. Review how and when they agreed to receive it, and honor requests to stop.
- Compare the audience and sending frequency with earlier campaigns. Reduce frequency or narrow the audience if messages may feel repetitive or irrelevant.
- Make the text specific and useful. Use a clear business name, an accurate offer or update, and one clear action. Avoid sending the same message repeatedly to people who do not engage.
- Review available delivery, read, and block signals in WhatsApp Manager. Change one part of the campaign at a time and monitor the result before increasing volume.
If Meta pauses or disables the template, stop using it in automated sends. Review the notice and template review guidance, then edit or replace the template as appropriate. A high quality rating does not guarantee delivery to every recipient.
