Understand WhatsApp sending speed for a ChatArchitect campaign

Throughput is the rate at which a WhatsApp Business phone number can process messages. It is separate from the messaging limit, which concerns how many different recipients a Meta business portfolio can reach outside an open customer service window. Your ChatArchitect tariff's monthly active client allowance is another separate measure. A high throughput level does not increase either audience allowance.

Meta can apply a rate limit to a phone number or to repeated messages for one recipient. The available rate depends on the phone number and its current Meta configuration. Do not plan a time-sensitive campaign from an old messages-per-second figure copied from another account.

Before a large send

  1. Confirm that the connected number and template are ready, and review the template's quality. Check the current messaging limit and ChatArchitect tariff separately.
  2. Start with a smaller group of recipients and check the final message outcomes in the integration you use. A successful request to submit a message is not proof of delivery.
  3. If you need to send a large volume quickly, ask ChatArchitect support to review the connected number, expected audience, campaign timing, and the integration's sending behavior. Do not assume that a queue, retry, or higher throughput is enabled for your setup.

If requests are rate-limited

  • Record the affected phone number, time, message or request IDs, and the error shown by your integration. Meta's Cloud API may return error 130429 when the phone number's throughput is exceeded.
  • Reduce the sending rate and check the integration's final outcomes before retrying failed requests. Do not resend messages whose outcome is still unknown: they may have been accepted for later processing.
  • If only messages to the same person are affected, consider a recipient-specific rate limit and avoid repeated sends to that person.
  • If requests succeed but some messages remain pending, check whether they are held for quality assessment. If the template is paused, stop campaigns using it. Neither situation is fixed by raising the request rate.
  • Ask ChatArchitect support to identify the actual restriction if reducing the rate does not resolve the error. Include the details you recorded and confirm which messages need another attempt.

Meta controls any increase in a number's throughput. Eligibility and timing can change; ChatArchitect cannot promise a particular rate or an automatic upgrade for your campaign.
