Prepare a ChatArchitect number for WhatsApp marketing

This page covers the customer setup needed before sending marketing templates through ChatArchitect. Meta's separate Marketing Messages API onboarding, developer app permissions and webhooks are a different integration path. The confirmed ChatArchitect customer workflow does not require you to configure Meta's /marketing_messages endpoint. Whether ChatArchitect uses that API internally has not been confirmed; see the API scope guide.

If you are connecting a new number

  1. Choose the Meta business portfolio that should own your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). Make sure you control the number and can receive a verification code by SMS or voice call. The phone number guide covers preparation and numbers already used in a WhatsApp app.
  2. Start the connection in ChatArchitect, choose Continue with Facebook, select the portfolio and WABA, add the number and complete its verification. Return to ChatArchitect and check that the number appears in your connection.
  3. Find the same WABA and number in WhatsApp Manager. The WABA guide explains where to look. Check that the number is available in the CRM, help desk or other sending tool you intend to use.

If the number is already connected

Check the existing ChatArchitect connection and the intended sending tool before starting another number setup. Use the business portfolio and WABA that already own the number. If the number also runs in the WhatsApp Business app, read the coexistence guide before changing that setup.

Sign in to wtargeted.com and connect your ChatArchitect App key and Secret, then create a Marketing template or check an existing one in Approved templates. Select the approved template in your connected sending tool and test it with a permitted recipient. The first campaign checklist covers audience permission, cost and launch checks. If another person will operate the CRM or help desk, use the team handover checklist to record the setup and test result.

If the setup does not complete

  • Number missing: Confirm that verification finished and that you selected the same business portfolio in ChatArchitect and WhatsApp Manager. If the number remains unavailable, send ChatArchitect support the portfolio and WABA names, number and error text. Do not send a PIN or one-time code.
  • Template missing: Check Approved templates and the final category in wtargeted.com, then check the selected account and number in your sending tool. Use the template review guide if approval failed.
  • Meta MM API prompt: The old instructions on this page described Meta App Dashboard, terms acceptance, read-only ad accounts and account_update webhooks. Those are direct Meta or partner integration steps, not the confirmed customer setup above. Ask ChatArchitect support whether a prompt is relevant to your account before relying on any MM API-specific feature.

For general platform onboarding principles, see Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform onboarding guide. For ChatArchitect marketing capabilities that need a separate availability check, see the features guide.
